About Maple Community Services™

Maple Community Services is an NDIS approved service provider which delivers support to participants in Australia. Our community of Support Workers provide high-quality supports to each and every client, with the pivotal focus on achieving their goals.

Maple Community Services is currently delivering supports in both New South Wales and Victoria. However, we plan on spreading our wings into other states and territories of Australia over the coming years; hence we are always happy to look at individual cases from other locations around Australia.
We are a family owned and operated business that has rapidly grown from our origins in Western Sydney, to the whole of metro and regional NSW, as well as Victoria. The NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an insurance support scheme of the Australian Government that funds costs associated with disability. The scheme was legislated in 2013 and went into full operation in 2020. The scheme is administered by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

The first step is to find out if you are eligible for the NDIS. If you are eligible, you will need to submit an Access Request Form to the NDIA for approval. Once your plan is approved, you can contact a registered provider such as Maple Community Services (1800 780 964) for information on what we do and how we can help you achieve the goals outlined in your plan.

Step 1. Determine if you’e eligible.

The first step in accessing the NDIS is to check your eligibility to apply for the NDIS. Your location, age, and whether you meet the requirements for disability or early intervention support all contribute to your eligibility for the NDIS. You can also check your eligibility by following the questions available on the NDIS website using the Eligibility Checklist.

Step 2. Apply for NDIS Funding

If you meet the criteria for accessing the NDIS, you can apply to become a participant. You can call the NDIS and ask to make an ‘Access Request’. You may need to include evidence of your disability when you apply – such as information on what your disability is, how long it will last and how it impacts your life. The NDIS website outlines the type of evidence you may need to provide.

Step 3. Create a Plan.

Your NDIS Plan will be a written agreement as to the types of supports and services you will receive funding for. It’s important to go into your planning meeting well prepared. You should think about your immediate support needs and the long-term and short-term goals you want to achieve through your NDIS Plan. Try to be as specific as possible.

Step 4. Start Achieving you Goals.

Once approved, you can start to use your plan to help you to move towards achieving your goals. Depending on your plan, you can get help from your Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) Coordinator, Local Area Coordinator (LAC), or Support Coordinator

Support Workers

Support workers are a vital part of providing Maple Community Service’s NDIS Participants with care, and are able to radically improve their quality of life. Support workers assist individuals who are unable to live independently by offering them the practical help they need as well as emotional support.

Maple Community Services, along with many other Service Providers accept Support Workers who have either a) experience in the industry, or b) a formal education in Support Work.

If you are looking to get a formal education within the field; there are many study options available to aspiring Community Support Workers, with courses ranging from certificate to masters level.

  1. Complete a Diploma in Community Services. The Diploma course should include 400 hours of supervised fieldwork placements. Alternatively, complete a bachelor degree, such as the Bachelor of Human Services and theBachelor of Community and Human Resources.
  2. Get work experience in a vocational placement.
  3. You can also gain experience in this industry and boost your resume by volunteering in Social Support or as a companion to those in need.
