Assisted Living Care Provider

At Maple, Assisted Living means having help with day to day tasks in order to help you live as independently as possible, while also expanding your skills. It may include help with personal care, cleaning, getting around, or cooking meals. People living with disabilities need support that improves their lives and has all the help they need to live as independently as possible.

Whether you or your loved one experiences a disability and is in need of Assisted Living, Maple Community Services provides top quality accommodation and services with the help of funding from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to ensure you can live your life to the fullest.

What is NDIS Assisted Living?

People usually assume Assisted Living is a more supported type of Accommodation like SDA. In reality, Assisted Living under NDIS funding can fall under either of the two main categories for Accommodation, Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). These are different types of funding depending on what you are eligible to receive according to your or your loved one’s level of disability.

If you qualify for Accommodation or SIL funding under the NDIS and would like to know more about what is covered, you can find more detail on our specific pages dedicated to these two accommodation options.

What is The Difference Between Assisted Living and Independent Living?

Assisted Living is generally used to refer to supports that assist with daily tasks and activities such as bathing, toileting, and housekeeping, among others. The term Assisted Living is synonymous with supported living.

Independent living communities generally focus on serving the social needs of residents and the models of these accommodations are sometimes set out differently. Independent living can be either supported or unsupported, but when the term is used in the aid and support community, it is usually considered to be supported on some level.

There may be different amenities offered at Assisted Living Accommodation such as family involvement, community design, and supports based on the different levels of disability or cognitive function of the residents. If you reach out to Maple we can elaborate on what we mean when we use this terminology and discuss what is included at different levels of support. We can help you make an informed decision based on what suits you or your loved ones needs.
